Single to use sensors that eliminate the electrode maintenance. Specially designed to work with microvolumes, this inexpensive miniaturized solution presents high reproducibility making them ideal for working in decentralized assays or to develop (bio)sensors in environmental, clinical or agri-food areas. The different modifications applied to the working electrode provide an enhanced active area and improve the electron-transfer properties.
Suitable for catalytical and photocatalytical applications.
Photocurrents are obtained when irradiating with an UV LED light into de working electrode. Energy of beam light is employed in promoting an electron from the valence gap to the conduction band. While the electrode can be involved in reductions reaction, the positive hole left behind can be involved in oxidation reactions making these electrodes suitable to perform switchable redox reactions controlled by a source of UV light.
